Deadline extended! Security Transformations in the EAP Region

A Call for Applications for a Seminar on

Revision of the Regional Security Order?

The FES Regional Office “Dialogue Eastern Europe” is pleased to invite young experts and practitioners of foreign policy, security, international relations, conflict studies and related fields Armenia, Georgia, Ukraine, Belarus, Moldova and Germany to participate in our upcoming regional academy on Security Transformations in the EaP Region: Revision of the Regional Security Order?

The academy will take place on July 16-22, 2023 in Yerevan, Armenia.

The objective of the “Security Transformations in the EaP Region: Revision of the Regional Security Order?” academy is to facilitate a collaborative learning environment for young experts, practitioners, politicians and politically active people from the EaP region to discuss and analyse the challenges in those spheres that became most relevant since the start of Russia’s full-scale war in Ukraine. The academy will provide a platform for young experts, practitioners and politicians from the EaP region to discuss and analyse the mechanics of change during the revisions of regional security on the regional and state level, and the implications on the status quo of the conflicts in the region.

As the academy will take place in Armenia, special – but by no means exclusive - attention will be given to Armenia’s security challenges. The academy aims to provide participants with an opportunity to deepen their knowledge, critical thinking, and policy-making skills through interactive discussions, peer-to-peer learning, case studies, and simulation exercises.

Ultimately, the main objective of the academy is to equip the participants with the knowledge and tools to develop policy recommendations for addressing the challenges facing the region and to foster a community of young political minds who can work together and/or within their national contexts towards promoting regional stability, security, and democracy. As importantly, the Academy aims to provide a unique platform to network and create sustainable ties among like-minded youth with shared values.
