The development of a real civil society depends on the exchange of common values and ideas. However, this could be solely achieved if there is a dialogue between all citizens, no matter what sexual, religious, or political ideology one follows.

The background of the youth conference was the occurrence of the annual assembly of the Eastern Partnership Civil Society Forum, as well as the next meeting of the fourth platform of the Eastern Partnership in November 2016 in Brussels.

On the 12th of October 2016, a preparatory workshop for the international youth conference "Youth for rights", scheduled to be held from the 27th to 28th of October 2016 in Kiev, was conducted, that also involved coaches and co-organizers of the conference.
